Macular degeneration

The macula is the center of the retina — the part you read with. With age it can wear down, making straight lines look wavy or faces hard to see. It is the most common cause of vision loss after 60. Regular monitoring with OCT imaging shows changes early, when vitamins or treatment can slow the disease.
